Hi all- the tilt/trim motor on my outboard is broken. Does anyone know how to manually engage the tilt-lock mechanism on this motor? (Pictures would REALLY help!)

There should be a lock on the STBD side of the swivel bracket that you can lock when in the full tilt position.

Thanks Boobie- what would it look like, and how would I engage it? (Trying to do this with the boat in the water)

It's like a half moon shape. You have to have the motor raised to flip it over. It's on the swivel bracket and rests on the mounting bracket.

You can check out the 1993 factory parts list online at: epc.brp.com. When you get into the 115 engine, look for this diagram: (stern bracket-power trim/tilt)
The tilt/lock lever is item # 17.

Towards the bow so it rests on the mounting bracket.
