Trying to diagnose what's wrong with this outboard. Lost the tachometer except for under about 1200 rpm. Tach drops to zero as soon as I raise RPM's above that point. Battery voltage always stuck at 12 volts. Both gauge issues occurred at the same time one trip out. Both seemed to read fairly accurate before this.
Stator resistance checks good. I've got the OEM outboard manual and the procedure for checking the regulator requires an ammeter, which I don't have.
Does this condition indicate the regulator/rectifier unit to you guys?
