I have a 1987 Johnson 90 that I would like to replace with a rebuilt 1994 115 Johnson. I would like to know if these engines are the same block (weight), have the same mounting holes/position, and can use the exiting controls (mounted on the boat) from the old 90. I'm sure several years of these motors were the same V 4
What years are the same and what about Evinrude models?

These engines have a lot in common. All of the OMC's (Johnson/Evinrude) use the same transom mounting bolt configuration. Controls are the same. Both are 99.6 cubic inch blocks, have the same hp rating and weigh almost the same to the lb. They use the same control boxes. The big change in control box wiring plug configuration took place in 1996.
