I just bought a 1973 Johnson 9.5HP Outboard Engine and after 6 minutes of travel, it bogs down and stalled.
I pulled the choke and this let me get back to my boat slip successfully, but while i was traveling back, if I push the choke back in, it wanted to die out...
Anyone know what this could be?

There is a knob (but missing the knob actually) that controls the rich/lean mixture i haven't adjusted ever?
Bad Float?
Water in the gas?

Siphon some fuel out of the bottom of the tank into a glass jar to check for water. That could cause your issue. If no water, you likely have a partially clogged main jet. Pull the drain plug from the bottom/ front of the carb, and probe out the jet behind with a thin wire, and try again.
The missing knob controls the low speed mixture.. Adjusted at idle (start at 1 1/4 turns out from seated).
Good luck!

Did you try pumping the bulb while running?

Is the tank venting?

Possible fuel pump issue.
