How can I tell if the motor is getting oil properly? Boat has been sitting for quite a while.

Is the VRO still on it ?? If it is, mix your fuel 50:1, take and run it and see if the oil level in the oil tank goes down and you get no warning horns.

Ok im not up on boat motors but im trying to learn. What is the VRO? Another guy here in town said just mix my fuel and do away with the separate oil tank?

Well---VRO refers to the------ Variable Ratio Oiling ---system.----It mixes oil and gas automatically if it is still in service.--------So this means you need to check into this.------Visit your favorite dealer / workshop, and ask them.-----Get a manual and read it before you turn the key on this motor.------Mistakes get expensive in a hurry.

I have already had it out run good died once then started back up with no problem im just trying to cautious the boats I have owned in the past always mixed gas
