Clogged tilt tube grease fittings

I have old hardened grease behind the zerks that grease the tilt tube. I have tried digging it out, carburater cleaner, WD 40, a power greaser, heat and a lot of cussing with no effect. I have heard that you can remove one of the end nuts on the tilt tube and "tap" it side to side to try to dislodge the hardened grease. Is this true? Can anyone tell me the best way to do it?<br />Stalker

Did you try to unscrew the grease nipples and replace them with clean ones?

Heat & lots of patience will often do it.
