I have a 1993 Evinrude 90hp that needs the tilt trim resealed. Is this an easy job? What does it take to do it? How much is the seal kit?

434519 seal kit. Somewhere around $ 75. Unless you have a factory service manual, you may want to have it done. You'll need a spanner wrench to get the pistons out.

I'd recommend a factory service manual if you're going to D.I.Y.

It only has 1 piston, and it has a big nut on top. It doesn't have the 2 holes.

Yes 1 main piston and the 2 smaller ones at the bottom. TJ90TLEIE and GO2588300 is what I got. I think it is a 1991 Johnson 90hp??? is this correct??

I seriously doubt a map gas torch will get the big nut undone boobie, just having some fun mate.

Find the leak, if it's in the trim rams then they can be done with the assembly in place (easy) but if it's leaking in the tilt ram then the whole assembly has to come out.

To get the tilt cylinder apart you need a spanner wrench to unscrew the cap on the top.

Wish I could see the unit 'cause that's a new one on me. Always had to use a spanner wrench.

That's why I looked up the but, betting its the one cast into the top of the tilt cylinder.

After a closer inspection it does in fact need a spanner wrench. I happen to have one so no problem. Now just need the rebuild kit.

As said in post # 2, the seal kit is part # 434519. Try on this forum or any BRP dealer.
