I purchased a 1970 9.5hp Evinrude model 9022c recently and it wouldn't hardly run and flooded fuel out the (I think) vent hole nearly constantly while running. I ordered a kit for it and installed it with a new float. I adjusted the float to be level with the upper body flange with it inverted. It still flooded terribly, so I lowered the float just slightly and it is starving for fuel now. Strangely though, fuel still comes out the overflow hole. when I took off the upper part of carb, the bowl was pretty much empty. Can anybody tell me what is going on with it? I don't know if it is missing any internal parts or not. I did look at some diagrams of this carb and it doesn't appear like its missing any, but I don't know for sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.......
