I have an Autozone near me and was hoping someone could suggest automotive equivalents to the following items:
OMC Gasket Sealing Compound
OMC Gel Seal
OMC Adhesive "M"
OMC Cleaning Solvent
I found the choices for Gel Seal particularly confusing the last time I was there.
Thanks

what are you sealing?

most of the gasket sealing compounds are permatex #3. most cleaning solvents are brake cleaner

the OMC gel seal is loc-tite anerobic sealer
The OMC adhseive "M" is Scotchgrip 3M 847

I have found no equal for the OMC Gasket Sealing Compound. I like it, get the can with the brush built in.

For the Gel Seal, as mentioned, Loc Tite 518, or the equivalent Permatex 518

Type M is now 3M 847, available at many locations. Not cheap though, but works very well.

The parts cleaner/brake cleaner is the easy one!

Slight typo there by High Trim. "Type M is not 3M 847" should be "is now". At least I trust that is what he meant to say. Sorry Chris if I'm over-assuming. I really do respect what you have to say.
