motor drops on its own when trying to install transome saver

i was getting ready to put my 18 ft lund with a johnson 150 2001. into storage and motor kept dropping. any ideas on what to to look for in the spring?

How's the fluid level in it ?? That's checked in the full tilt up position.

There should be a rebuild kit with all the rubber parts and seals, avail for that motor. Sounds like a good winter project.

If you do decide to rebuild it get an OMC factory service manual.

Gee, I am not sure the OMC Service Manual for that motor covers the PTT System repairs. It had real basic things (filling, bleeding etc.) but nothing more complex. He may need an OMC Accessories service manual or something.

I have the same problem and its due to the pressure relief valve which is no longer available. Thats what i have seen and read on this forum. I would like to fix it as well

thanks, im do have manual but not accessories manual. its in storage so no winter project. i will track down factory accessory manual. you would think that every big motor would have ptt and it would be included in manual

You might want to start off by replacing the manual relief valve.
