I am rebuilding my 150 intruder and going .40 over and was thinking about boyeson reeds. Any suggestions if they are worth it on this looper? Also What should the ring gap be on this engine? I can't find my shop manual. Thanks

The motor will be smoother and more responsive (if thats possible) but the rev limiter will still limit the top rpm.

We arent too concerned with ring gap in a two stroke outboard. We just want to make sure the ends dont touch. Thats bad for several obvious reasons.

Good luck!

Ring end-gap clearance will be included in instructions with pistons, or should be.
They were with my wisecos....

EDIT: BTW, I installed Boyesens in my last 115 and I will never run factory reeds again if I can help it...The startability, the smooth idle, and transition through mid-range is a great improvement.

...plus, if the engine just happens to swaller one, it just burps it right out.

c/6
Hooty
