Do a voltage drop test on all cables and connections. If you don't know what that is, now is a good time to learn.

Did you do a simple ohm reading from the comutator to the starter shaft ???-----What is that value on yours ?

Clean all your battery cable connections and have a load test done on the battery at any parts house.

If you are using an old solenoid in the system, it may need to be replaced. After many, many starts, the contacts inside get burned and won't transfer current properly.

Original plug was L77J4 at .040" (1.0mm). Replaced by L77JC4

hi, i got NGK B7HS SPARK PLUGS is this ok.
Probably ... but you dont say what they are for.

The thing you must avoid is using resistor plugs (eg BR7HS) in place of Champion Q series plugs. These are inductively suppressed and are called for for many OMC outboards.

EDIT .... These for your 1981 35 hp ?..... Yes they will be Ok but if you want to fit suppressed plugs use either Champion QL77JC4 or NGK BZ7HS

Correct gap is 0.030" or between 0.7 and 0.8 mm

Note NGK plugs often come preset eg B7HS-10 are the same plugs but set at 1.0mm but can be reset to 0.7- 0.8mm

But latest recommendation ITYWF is QL77JC4, which are inductively suppressed. and the gap now recommended is 0.030" which is between 0.7 and 0,8mm

Carlos - Four of your topics have been merged into one. Please add to your existing topic, you don't to have to start new topics for every little thing - All it does is confuse those trying to help you. I'm not sure all four topics made the merge successfully. Thanks
