This 6 hp motor is giving me more grief than i wanted,will run on starting fluid(just one time for a few seconds)will cough on fuel squirted into carb.Turned motor over, with plugs pulled,using a battery drill and socket on the flywheel and the spark is a yellowish,white color.where should i start testing? I have a multimeter.A few days ago i noticed the wire harness coming from the stator? (under the flywheel) was chafed and some bare copper was showing.I removed the casing and used a solderless connector on it then wrapped the wires up with black tape.Only one wire was chaffed.
This is a case where the thing ran fine one day then a week later it wouldn't start until a half hour of pulling,then ran fine for 19 minutes then died.
Does anyone have a chain of testing procedures rather than just throwing money at it?
