I have 1976 Johnson 25 hp, model 25R76E. What is the proper fuel pump? It has a square pump installed. Many suppliers show a "five-sided" pump, and some show the pump I have. Any thoughts/comments? (Can you recommend a good service man within fifty miles of Knoxville?)

BRP lists the small square pump as correct. On another site it lists the square pump as replacing the other. It states it will fit. Here at iboats they sell the 5 sided one for your motor. The sierra pump for sale here is the better price.

Very little goes wrong with these pumps and a repair kit ( factory kit comes with instructions ) or a new diaphragm is all you could really need.-----If you search various models that use this pump , you will find just the diaphragm listed for a couple of dollars.
