175 HP Evinrude intruder 1993 spitfire series

I replace the filter on the water seperator and now the bulb on the fuel line wont get hard. I have pumped it for a very long time and no luck. VRO still in use.Can someone give me history on reliability of these motors? Thanks for your help.

Did you fill the separator with fuel before screwing it on?

BigR:<br /><br />Don't know about the history of that exact model, but you may simply have a pinhole in the fuel pump diaphragm.

I agree with angus63, fill up the filter with a 50:1 mixture, then screw it on and the ball should get hard and prime the carbs.
