Distributor Cap and Wires 63' 75hp Evinrude

Do the wires separate from the Distributor cap on a 1963 Evinrude starflite 4 75 hp motor? <br /><br />I dont want to force them off if they are molded on. I need to replace the wires and didnt know if i needed to replace the cap at the same time. Thanks.

If they're like my Speedifour, then they _unscrew_ rather than pop on and off the distributor cap.

They did screw out. I have a 60' that dont screw out. and I didnt want to damage them. thanks for the info and you were correct.<br />Thanks,<br />requa
