1998 Johnson 130 (manifold part #46?)

A hose running to the upper nipple of the silencer.

I cut a piece off temporarily.

Now I want to replace it, but it has hidden itself behind a carburetor.

What is the purpose of that hose?

I don’t want to remove a carburetor for access if it is not a problem letting it stay where it is

The service manual says it originates at the vapor pump, and tees to the upper main bearing vent and the air silencer. Since the vapor pump is pumping fuel vapors, it's likely function is to allow those vapors to be burned.
