Hello to all! First, sorry, my english is not perfect, but i´ll do my best.

I bought a used motor, evinrude 30hp, built 1990. The seller told my to use 1:100, but it seems, that the motor runs hot. What´s the rigt fuel-mixture? 1:100 or 1:50? Motor-Number: BE30BAESS.

There´s no pdf-manual? Would be great!
Thanks, Volker

I would use a 50-1 oil fuel mix. Check water pump first for overheat. If you still have overheat after waterpump replaced, remove head check water deflectors.

Guten Tag Volker!

50:1 is way to go.

Hopefully it hasn't been damaged by running 1% ??

Use link bottom of this page to find a manual for the motor.
You'll never regret getting one...

Thanks for answer...

Because i did not want to damage the motor, i used about 1:75. Overheating was just a feeling. So you are sure, 1:50 is right?

I asked for manual, eg. technical specification, to read it "black on white". And sure the dealer is interested too. To argue i would like th have something written in my hands.

Bye, Volker

Johnson/Evinrude did recommend a 100:1 oil mix for a short time. They issued a service bulletin to use 50:1 after they burned up several motors. The original manual probably said 100:1 and that ain't good.

Charles

Right - and some oil brands talk about 100:1 as well. :(

Still , 50:1 (90 octane and TWC-3 oil) is way to go.

Thanks to all!
That´s what I needed. The Dealer was sure and - he does´nt seem to be someone telling buls... - you told me the reason. For me it was hard to believe what´s right.
In Germany we have some forums too, but the number of members is quite less. So the answers come - if the come - very slow. So again, many thanks and always enough water unter your boats! Volker

Would the 50:1 mixture also apply to OMC Model #TJ30ELCED, which I believe is a 1989 model? Thanks!

You should have started a new thread. Anyway, yes your motor is a 1989 and 50:1 is the correct fuel/oil mix for your motor.
