1982 Evinrude 50 hp assembly question

I am rebuilding my 1982 50hp E50BELCNR. When assembling crankshaft where do I place p/n 0313754 o-ring, upper crank bearing? Do I just slide the o-ring on the crankshaft and then slide the bearing/seal on? There does not appear to be an o-ring groove or seat. The manual is not clear and the old one was gone due to bearing/crankshaft failure. This is my first rebuild and I would appreciate any information. Thanks.

The o-ring fit on the outside of the bearing ( near the top ) then fits in the groove in the block.
