As far as I know, the 50 special is simply a stripped down version. No power tilt/trim and no Oil injection VRO system. I think it lacks electric start as well???? Someone can confirm this for you I am sure. Good Luck
Either your engine has the wrong markings or it was optioned up. The ones I've seen had elec start but no T&T or VRO. Maybe the new ones are different...I've only seen 48s & 88s.

Have no idea but need your help. look on the port side of your powerhead for 2 grounded wires On 1 ring connecter, (1 green & 1 Black) & tell me where they go.(stucando page 1&4) somebody vandalized my motor. fixed everthin but TnT wiring. have '97 j50tleuc. THANKS
