Need standard bore size for 1988 60 H.p. JOHNSON

can anyone give me standard bore size for 1988 60 H.p. Johnson-need to rebore but machinist needs standard bore to go from.Thanks,Shawn.

I would think from standard bore size the machinist can determine the amount he needs to remove from scored cylinder or cylinders and use his final resurfacing as to what oversize piston will be used.20 over,30 over and so on.If other cylinders are within tolerance with stock pistons he can simply detremine from them as to bore and oversize.if all cylinders are scored or worn out of spec is when standard baseline would be of use.If he is generic machinist he will need your assistance in obtaining oversize piston as baseline for his work.

Actually a 1988 60 hp is a 49 cid motor and the standard bore is 3.000". And any piston part number that starts with 18- is a Sierra (DMI) piston.<br /><br />A 1988 65 or 70 is a 56 cid motor. The standard bore on a 56 cid 3 cylinder is 3.1875". <br /><br />Find a marine machine shop!!!!!
