I have a 1989 Johnson 150 V6 GT and was wondering what is tha maximum rpm's this engine is rated at and is it okay to keep it at this maximum for any period of time? I have had this setup which is a 1989 Stratos 285 Pro and the 150 HP Johnson for only about 2 months now. Is there a site or link where I could find out more info on this motor and boat? Johnson's and Stratos's site on list the latest boats and motors. How does one find info on older setups.
Also I'm new to this forum and wonder if there is anyway that I could find post on just 1989 Johnson's 150 HP motors rather that looking at some 16,000 plus post to find info on my Johnson?

A New Boat Owner,

Mike ;)

I would try for around 5800 with an average laod. Always use fresh 87 octane and Champion plugs and you should be good to go. Watch the water pressure.

Good luck!

The search feature on this board is an amazing thing. You can put in key words and let it work. I have found posts on my issues from a long ways back.

Kev
