My steering cable is frozen. So, I cut the cable and can pull each end out...its a 1989 Evinrude 88...but then they catch. What's the trick to disconnecting them from one another so that I can pull them both out?
Re: Steering Cable. How to disconnect? Evinrude 88
The tried a true method of steering ths thing would be single cable steering. That means that you will have a big nut on the starboard/right side of your tilt tube.Did you loosen this nut? Your description of the problem leaves us wanting more thereby the lack of responses. Most steering seizures occur in the tilt tube and are caused by corrosion. Is that what has happened to you?
