Hope someone can help. I am rebuilding this
motor that has sat for 12 years and for the
most part am done, except the engine when it
starts does not want to stay started and will
die shortly after starting. I have rebuilt
the fuel pump, put in new gas lines, have
new tanks, new plugs, cleaned the carbs. any
suggestions on how to help this motor keep
running? It doesnt want to idle at high or
low. It runs if I keep priming it.

thanks, Butch

Hi Butch,
My money is on the fuel pumps. Those OMC pumps can be a bit tricky and only go together one way. One quick test to make sure the check valves are in right and operating is to blow in from one side of the pump and then the other. It'll only blow thorugh one way - the direction of the fuel flow. If it blows through in both directions, then somethings amiss.
- Scott
