Evinrude Fastwin coils 1951

Hello
I have a 1951 14hp fastwin all I can find are 15 hp coils can I replace the old coils with
the ones that are for a 1951 15 hp ? I found some at Napa but before I spend 64 buck I want to know
if they will work or not .

They are fine but you could probably get them cheaper than that right here at Iboats.

The universal OMC coil you found will NOT work on the '51, at least not as is. I'm not sure if it is possible to retrofit the universal coils onto the older laminates... It has been done with other brands and coils, though, and might be worth a look.

EDIT: Chine beat me to it, but yeah, DONT buy the ones you found at NAPA. That will not work. I may have some good used ones. Ill look.

I've gotten those old-school coils from Tim's 218-682-2331. They load test used coils to be sure they're good to go. Measure your coil wire length coming off your each coil and let 'em know so you don't end up w/one too short.
