hot start stalling on 2005 175hp Johnson

initial start motor runs fine when cold, get to first fishing location shut down restarts fine, will idle put in gear and stalls out cant get going, let idle no difference, high idle no dif. two times ago start and hammer throttle would go, last time did not work. after u get it going it runs fine. any ideas ?

Some say that issue is caused by "hot soak" (similar to vapor lock). I have it on my '98 150HP motor. I let her idle at 1200 or more upon hot restart, for a minute. That seems to get around the issue, at least for me.

I had a similar issue turned out to be a sticky primer valve causing the cold engine to start ok because it needed to be choked but after it was warm it no longer required the extra fuel for starting and caused it to run way to rich try pulling small lines of solenoid after warm up to see if that helps be careful if fuel is spitting out onto hot engine (obviously) you may have to rebuild or replace fuel solenoid
