Hi Guys:
Working on first powerhead re-build (new rings, crank / con rod bearings / gaskets / seals) . Parts coming in early next week.
Looking ahead...is it wise to check compression after everything is back together...or run it in first?
I don't have a test tank for run-in....the Johnson manual recommend 2 hrs at half throttle followed by another 3 hrs with various load, just not full throttle for extended period of time....thoughts on this?
Does this need to be continuous? Or just take out and use it as normal (fishing boat).
For compression checking, I've read numerous posts on this, but still a little confused on where / how to jumper the solenoid.
Attached is a pic showing the solenoid wiring for my motor.
Any help on where to jumper would be great.
Thanks ahead guys.
Tony
