I am purchasing a complete gear case for my 35 super seahorse, and was wondering what is involved with replacing the drive shaft from the original motor and installing it into my replacement. Will it just pull out from a splined area from within the gear case, or is it more involved than that? I don't want to have to open up the gear case as it is complete. Really hoping it is just pull it out of one and put it in the other. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Rick

Yeah all you do is remove gearcase, remove water pump assembly, then pull the drive shaft out.

WHat is wrong with it?

It apparently has a crack in the case, on the port side, where the intake screen is and I can't get in there to fix it. Keeps hemorrhaging gear case lube and filling with water.

Thanks for the reply, I couldn't remember if the shaft just pulls out, or if it messed w/ the gears inside.
