Hello,

today I mounted the lower unit on my 94 ocean runner 250 hp with my son and must say pretty proud we got it back on. Shift rod in place and reverse and forward and neutral all ok. Pumped the fuel ball until hard and choked while cranking - after 4 tries it is running ok. But smoking and a bit unregular because of the fogging oil I used before winter i guess.

However, after a 5 minutes run with water hose (peeing ok) there is a very black residue coming out from the exhaust port (prop housing) .....just wonder if this is normal? Can it be that the seals are not as tight as I thought? the new LU oil is light coloured (transparent) - and we hardly used the gear - maybe twice forward and twice reverse....

See pics below....any idea what this is?

Take the boat out and run it, it will flush the system out and get rid of the residue.
