Question regarding mounting the cables to the motor.

I have an 1978 Evinrude 35HP Model No. 35853R.

The remote box and cables that the p.o gave me with it is the Evinrude Simplex 2 Lever P/N 278434.

The cables do have the end connectors, and I have no issue attaching them to the shifter and throttle. My unresolved issue is mounting them to the motor itself. I believe I am missing hardware to do this. Each side of the motor has what looks like a dedicated spot to affix the cable to the motor, Id rather buy OEM parts than "rig" something.

Thanks for all the help in advance

Glad we were able to help you out.

Of course! Thats why you're both the pros.

I supposed I should have been a bit more patient, and followed the diagram more closely. I apologize for flooding the forum with a nonsense post as a result of my own impatience. On a good note, bought a set of two off a fella in minnesota from ebay for $20.00.

Being an advisor in Canada, we have to come up with some knee slapping one liners relative to outdoors, just to connect with new/prospective clients. The branch I work at is located at the mouth of lake Erie. My one-liner, that applies to this thread

"I have very little patience, and I use most of it while fishing".

Thanks again guys
