Currently inspecting my Lark's reed valves. Manual doesn't give much direction on what kind of gap/clearance is acceptable b/t the reeds and the plate. Basically, from what I've read, you hold them up to a light and if you see a sliver of light coming thru under any of the reeds they need to be adjusted down ('more closed'), or replaced, as I'm sure most will suggest. Does this sound right? Or should there be a bit of light coming thru.. or an actual measurement I can take with my feeler gauge??

No light visible is preferred.-----------A bit of light is very common.-----Replace them if more than 0.005" open.-------Do not bend them or turn them over.---------They open and close many times per second at full throttle.--------Check for wear on the edges where they seat.

Sounds good, about what I'm working with, just a bit of light. Think they're in serviceable limits.
Thank you
