When cold or cooled off will only start when lever on solenoid is turned 90 degrees (manuelly). after that start and run will start with key choke if it has not cooled down for at least an hour. Runs great, but have to work solenoid by hand if it has cooled a while when fishing with troll Motor. Fresh water use on 17ft fishing boat. Have replaced solenoid and have 12 volts when keyed.
Thanks, Confused

When you turn the key to " on " and push the key in do you hear a click ?

How do you have the red lever set for cold start, aimed back over the solenoid body?

Remove the little lines that go to the manifold at each carb, pump up the primer bulb firm, activate the choke solenoid and see if you get fuel squirting out of the lines.

Sounds like the choke solenoid is working properly.
Are you choking it while the engine is turning over, or just pushing the choke before you try and start it?

Key must be pushed in while cranking the motor over !!-----Pushing the key in and not cranking does very little to put fuel into the engine.
