OK, got everything back together and was gonna check compression and as you can see in the video, the starter motor is spinning but will not rise up and engage the flywheel. It was working fine yesterday, I don't get it. I did check compression by pull starting it and got a really good reading of 105-110 on each cylinder, so thats good news.:D But wth could be going on with the starter? Ugh, it's awways something. I just got that starter within the last couple months when I did my electric start conversion. Starter, mount, solenoid, switch, wires everything, and it was working fine till now.

Yes it hooked up right. If it wasn't how could I have power to turn it at all??

The battery is new too. I have an onboard charging system that I assumed was working, but I have the battery hooked to my truck now with jumper cables to see if it charges it at all.

It would turn backwards and the pinion gear would be forced down !!!!

Goes along with the " look twice and act once " kind of repair approach !!!
