HI all...

Instead of me trying to type out my issue, I made a little video.

Might have to turn it up a bit, I don't speak very loudly I guess.

Having an issue with my restored fuel tank delivering fuel to my outboard.

I know for a fact the outboard operates correctly as tested when I was at the repair shop.

Not sure if it is a pressure issue or a connector issues.

Looking for insight.

The little bit of fuel dripping after connecting is normal, gravity drains it.

Now, when you primed the button, did you hear the fuel filling the carb bowl.

OR, remove the fuel line from motor, stick a nail in the fuel connector, and prime the button, does fuel flow out?

If so, there is no issue at the tank, you have a starting issue at the motor. As long as the fuel is getting to the fuel bowl.

Pardon my ignorance, but where or what is the carb bowl?

Follow the fuel line in the motor, and it will connect to the carb. The float bowl is the chamber where the fuel is "stored" until used.

You can usually hear it filling as you prime.

Maybe the float is stuck down, or the needle is stuck in the seat. Some debris got lodged?

Do as HighTrim suggested in post #2.......remove fuel line from motor connection pump bulb, with fuel line pointing away from you depress the spring loaded checks and fuel should squirt out.... if yes then remove fuel line from carb and blow back from carb fuel line through motor side connector ( with fuel line from tank removed.... I'm guessing either the connector at the motor has a blockage or the pins are worn and not engaging the check valves.

I will try that this evening. Question about the primer button on the fuel tank itself. How "firm" should that be when pressing it... I primed it, as mentioned in the video about 5 times or so, then it got pretty stiff.... I didnt want to "over prime" it and blow something off ... Should it be hard enough that I cannot press it any more? Should there always be some give in it?

No it should firm up like you noticed in 5 pumps or so.

Re: Duel Line Fuel Tank Troubleshooting (Video)

Ok, thank you all for the help.

I was able to get fuel properly to the motor. .

I think it was a pressure issue... I tightened up all of the bolts around the tank, gave it a few more pushes on the primer, heard the bowl fill up and it fired right up

However, I have one minor remaining issue with some fuel leaking near the primer push button...

check out the video if you have a minute.

Starring my son in the background.

Not sure what you mean seal around the primer?

I did replace the fuel pump gasket..which sits between the two parts of the fuel pump itself.

There wasn't an actual "seal" around the primer itself...it screwed into the fuel intake foot and was held in place with a small washer type piece...
