Hi all - I got some carb rebuild kits and proceeded to replace needles, gaskets etc. On the low-speed needle, there's a part # 0314166 (Bearing Needle Valve, a small round plastic piece) that has split, so I went to replace it with the equivalent part in the kit. The one that came out is a softer plastic, the replacement one is a hard white plastic that I can't get in the orifice without putting pressure on the needle valve and I'm scared to force it into the screw hole in case I need to and can't remove it ... does anyone have any experience with doing this?

Thanks from sunny New Zealand!

I have had the same issue in the past. I install the bearing in the carb body and then screw the needle valve into it.

First make sure there are no pieces of the old bearing left inside, easier said than done. Than slide the bearing over the needle valve, screw the needle valve in and gently seat it. Back out the needle valve and adjust as needed. The bearing is now installed.
