Is there anyway to check the vacuum switch it has a hose coming from it that goes into the t and continues as part of the fuel system. Any basic things I should know about it or inspect? Just one of those things on the engine over looked time and time again. Also same for the pulse limiter I replaced the one on my 89 some years ago probably didn't need to and I don't want to throw another 50 bucks away. The vacuum switch isn't even available on brp's website at all though I found a few on eBay for a pretty penny. The switch in question is part 10 in the diagram. convert.jpg

Get a vacuum pump and hook it up to the hose on it. Then get an ohmmeter and put across the wires. You should show no continuity until you reach about 7" Hg.

The pulse limiter should never need replacing.
