Best shop manual for 1980 Evinrude 175 HP?

I know this question has probably been scattered, smothered, and covered....but I couldn't find anything on the subject.

So, what's the best manual?

Agreed with above get a OMC shop manual. You can find them all over eBay. I'm a owner of the OMC and Clymers manuals the Clymers manual is about as useful as a dr sues book.

The official factory publications site is: outboardbooks.com, or call Ken Cook Co., in Milwaukee. They will get you going in the right direction.

Make sure and use your model number to get the correct manual.

Just found and bought a used one on ebay $22. I have a 150 johnnie 1980. This covers your 175 and there were others on there, too.

For the life of me, I can't find a serial number on this engine.

Look at the casting plug atop the block, over one of the heads. It's probably painted over, but should have the model and serial number. It's the model # you are looking for.
