Same as hitting something under water but stays moving and if I hold the gear lever the jumping stops. I checked the gear dog, forward gear and linkages and all seems fine.

The clutch dog can only be installed one way.----It is not reverseable.-----Did you verify that is was correct?--------Have you checked that the bolts installed in the brass connecter are located in the notches on the rods ?----Have you adjusted shift brackets at the motor block ?
