Evinrude wiring harness hmm??

I had a 91 Johnson 175 well it blew a cyl so i went out and bought 1988 evinrude 225 also with a red plug but my question is the orginial harness from the johnson has ALL the male prongs in the harness but the female end on the new motor only has like 3/4 of them not all will it still work..??

I do believe a red plug is a red plug, changed a few with no problems.
