how many ah battery should this engine have? i need to go buy a battery tomorrow..

The ignition on that engine (magneto capcitance Discharge) is self contained such as a magneto equipped outboard so the battery amp hour designation isn't important such as needed on the older 1968 to 1972 engines (battery capacitance discharge) to provide a specific amperage to the ignition system.

However, it is best to purchase one that has a rating that is at least 75 amp hours to power the starting system.

ive read a lot that you should not go for the low maintenance sealed batteries, you should get the ones which you can top the fluids up in.
I cant remember why but it was something about the charge, discharging cycle

them "old" batteries wich one can fill up is hard to find these days,maintainence free is taking its place..

Down here in FL we like those "old" batteries so we can keep an eye on the water level. I don't have a maintainence free battery in either one of my cars.
