1984 Evinrude Lower Unit

I have a 1984 Evinrude 70 hp motor. Serial # E70ELCRD J0395694. The gearcase housing is cracked. Welding it does not appear to be an option. Can anyone tell me what models/years OMC gearcase housings would be interchangeable with this motor?

parts program says 81 thru 88,im sure if anything is different others will correct this.

77 and up to 88 will fit.--The earlier ones may be a different shape but will work.

I thought they changed the gear case in mid year of '75 and '76 will work also.

Thank you all for the information! Now,I know what to search for. Anybody out there have a used gearcase housing for sale; Evinerude or Johnson years 81_ 88?
