2002 Johnson 50hp Power tilt/trim J50PLSNF

Well I'm looking at a 16' Privateer with the above motor. The seller has completely removed the trim/tilt unit and all the parts, and just tilts it up by hand. Wondering where I could buy a complete unit? Looked on Ebay, nothing, Crowley over a $1,000....any miracles out there?

You might go to the "Top Secret File" at the top of the first page, there is a list of salvage yards there. You might try contacting some of them for used parts.

Thanks, I couldn't find that, could you copy and paste that link here? Since there is nothing there, could someone tell me how the tilt unit attaches, I see a couple rods in the parts diagram, is that it top and bottom? He said he cut the piston off at the top cause he couldn't get the top bolt out I guess.

If I remember correctly, there is a pin on the top of the ram and a pin on the bottom of the hydraulic unit that attaches the unit to the engine.
