Good evenings! Wondering if anyone with the knowledge could help me out. Working on an '82 35hp Evinrude and it has a badly pitted crankshaft... Pics below, its junk. So I'm trying to hunt down a suitable replacement, however according to part numbers the only crank that'll fit is another '82 one (part number 327591). Looking at the next year ('83) 35hp model, the only part number changed in the "crankcase and piston" section is the crankshaft, to part number 328376. Then in '84 they also changed an o-ring in comparison to 82 model, and only in 85 do they change bearings, rods and a few other bits.

So my question is, can i use the '83 up crank (328376) on my '82 block? What exactly was changed on it that year that didn't require any other new parts?

As far as I know that crank is fairly common.----One from 1992 down to 1980 will fit.--That is for the 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 hp models.----Should be easy to find a good used one.

That part number(327591) has been superseded to 328212 then to328376 which as stated will interchange from 1982 to 1992 25/30/35hp motors

Im working on building one motor out of three I have two 76 Evinrude 35 HP motors but the case themselves have been bored and are junk. I have a 83 case thats in good shape will a 76 crank fit in a 83 case? thats my question for my frankenrude build. Thanks, Vince

Hey Vince! Not 100% sure about the exhaust, but why does that matter? Are you worried about the driveshaft fit? Faztbullet is right... My plan was to use a 77 crank in my 82 block, but the 77 had a smaller main journal. You need crankshafts number 327591 or 328376 for your 83 case, and if i understand correctly 323000 will also fit. How bad are the two 76s? How much were they bored? Having two identical ones will make your frankenstein project easier, me thinks....
