I am in the process of rebuilding my 1988 E70ELCCA and some of the reed valves don't seal completely, i can push them closed with a pencil like the service manual says but they don't stay that way. They are only open maybe .010 in.

You can usually see some light through one or more but not all of them.---0.010" is a bit much if measured correctly.-----Are there running issues with this motor ?
