Fuel filter and fuel mix

I have a 1979 4hp evinrude and I'm thinking of putting a fuel filter on the fuel line. The concern I have is that the fuel filter would cause too much resistance since fuel flow relies on gravity feed only.
Also I would like to run the motor on a 25:1 mixture as this is what my main motor uses. Would this mixture tend to foul the plugs?

Thanks Kevin

There should already be a small fuel filter installed in the fuel hose leading from the tank.... short hose from tank to filter, then a longer hose from the filter to the carburetor. Part #386031.

Running your 4hp at 24:1 won't hurt anything, and it should run just fine.

Good luck!

With the 24:1 all it will do is smoke a little more.
