I have a 1979 Johnson 6 hp outboard which I have had for about 20 years. It has been well maintained and runs great. I recently did a compression test and found compression to be 60 and 61 psi. I am thinking that is on the lower end of 0-k. Should I re-ring this motor now, or wait until compression is lower??? Thanks

All gauges read different values.------Does the carburetor hiss a wee bit at idle ??------No need to worry at all.

I would wait until it doesn't run great before I would take up that task. I can't really see the rings on both pistons degrading at the exact same rate, so I suspect the problem is in your guage.
