head bolt and spark plug

hi all, first time posting, I have a 1987 Johnson gt 150 on a ranger 375v, started it up for the first time this year in the driveway with muffs and notest a couple head bolts had a few drips of water dripping from them , is this something I should look into? and what would be the best spark plug to run in this motor, I have herd 87 and 88 take different plugs and woundered what the difference was, thanks to all

Pictures of leaks are always useful.----Could be the water jacket cover bolts that are leaking.

Welcome to Iboats!

I would absolutely look in to it. It could be indicative of a blown head gasket.

Have you tried to tighten the leaking bolts up ??

Agree with boobie, maybe the head bolts have lost their clamp load over the years. Retorque to original specs. Factory recommendation on plugs for a 1978-87 V6 crossflow: UL77V-that's a surface gap plug. 1988 and up crossflows use QL77JC4, a conventional J-gap plug.
