Hi guys I have a 1976 johnson 70 seahorse what I want to know is my motor is bogging out when I give her throttle is that a sign that the carbs need cleaning or is it something more this is going to sound weird but my wife is getting ready to rebuild all three of them.the steering is stiff and am wanting to know what size cables I need for a 19ft boat. Or if I can find a number on them where would it be

Yes that is weird but dont stop her, you married well.
Go ahead, clean all carb orifices and make sure every passage is clean.
CHeck compression and spark as well if you can
Not sure about cables

The throttle/shift cables are usually heat-stamped with the part number and length. Look for the stamped number about a foot from the engine end of each cable. It will read something like this: 319224-13. The first number is the factory cable number, the second number is the length in feet. You might have OMC or Teleflex cables, so the numbers could be all over the place.

Same for the steering cables. They are also heat-stamped about a foot from the engine. The second number is the length.
