I just picked up a 20 hp Johnson with electric start that is missing the start/kill switch. I thought this would be a simple part to find, but so far have no luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction? What part number should I look for, where can I find one???
That is the plug in connecter for the wiring harness.-----That harness and related bits are not easy to find.----If you study wiring diagrams, you can figure out how to bypass all this and make something up with parts from local auto supply store.
Hi Forrest. Welcome to iboats. I have the exact same motor and love it. Although, I don't bother with the electric start unless you really need it. My motor is very easy to pull start and not having to worry about the extra weight and hassle of a battery is nice. Not to mention the cost and time involved in tracking down the parts. Here are some handy links to help you get her running again. You can get any routine parts you might need (carb kits, points & condensers, etc...) right here at iboats. Holler if you get stuck.

You need to install a solenoid under the cover ( OMC solenoid for marine use ) not much money.-----A push button to make it crank over and a stop button.-----Or an ignition switch.----Many different, simple ways to do this.
Your motor is set up for remote starting and choking from up front. Here is the simplest set-up, with push buttons at the motor. If you want remote starting you will have to find a cable, or gerryrig your own.
