1987 Johnson 70hp top mount replacement

Gday all ,i'm after a little advice about replacing the top mount on my motor its appears to be absolutely buggered has actually separated inside ,can anyone tell me how I should go about fixing this can it be done dropping the leg/gearbox assembly or is it off with the power head assembly to get access to this section -any advice greatly appreciated cheers mrbull

Powerhead has to come off, upper mounts are directly under the powerhead. Pretty straightforward job, but expect to spend a day or so doing it. You'll need a powerhead base gasket, too. Hope she's not a salty!

Thanks for your reply,managed to get it all apart today,also dropped gearbox and separated mid section aswell to give everything a once over an fresh paint while im at it ,and yes it was/is a salty the top mount bolts were rusted through so next task is to try extract whats left from the exhaust extension housing, thanks again ,

Did u take bottom rubber mounts off if so how did they come out
